AEW President Tony Khan spoke on the state of the company in an interview with Wrestling Observer Radio and revealed several pieces of information.

Khan spoke with hosts Dave Meltzer and Garrett Gonzales about this weekend’s pay-per-view, revealing that the live gate for All Out has hit $1 million, making it the third consecutive AEW pay-per-view to hit that marker following Double or Nothing in May and Forbidden Door in June.

Khan added that AEW is going to gross “over $100 million this year”, which would put AEW at roughly 10 percent of the revenue generated by WWE for 2021, which was $1,095,174 billion.

Next month’s Grand Slam event at Arthur Ashe Stadium will see a two-hour edition of Rampage airing on Friday, September 23rd, and keeping the format of last year’s show, which also saw Rampage expanded by one hour for the special.

In the interview, Khan was very high on the relationship between AEW and New Japan Pro Wrestling and specifically working with Rocky Romero and Gedo in advance of Forbidden Door. Khan said there would definitely be another Forbidden Door show in 2023 and would do his best to help New Japan for Wrestle Kingdom next January. One of the issues regarding the January 4th event is that it falls on a Wednesday next year and for AEW to send talent, they would miss both Dynamite and Rampage that week.

There was no update on the progress of Ring of Honor obtaining a television deal, but Khan reiterated that he is working on it, and is also working on the All Elite Women concept, which the company recently filed a trademark for.
