The wrestling organization is launching their own MMA division.

Kiyoshi Tamura, Executive Director of GLEAT Wrestling, appeared on the promotion’s official YouTube channel to announce the launch of GLEAT’s MMA division.

‘GLEAT MMA’ will formally kickstart on December 14th with a show at Korakuen Hall in Tokyo, Japan. He expressed that some of the wrestlers in GLEAT have MMA backgrounds and are MMA oriented.

In addition to MMA bouts, he’s interested in incorporating kickboxing and grappling matches if there is a desire for those styles of fighting. On the 16th of this month, there is going to be a press conference to announce fights for the 12/14 card.

GLEAT first launched in 2020. They’ve had All Japan Championships defended at their shows and New Japan’s Yuji Nagata, Yoshinobu Kanemaru, Hirooki Goto, Shingo Takagi and DOUKI have wrestled for GLEAT this year.
