Tony Khan is making the media rounds to promote AEW Grand Slam at Arthur Ashe Stadium and spoke about various subjects surrounding the company.
Khan was asked various roundabout questions regarding the backstage incident at All Out that has led to CM Punk, Kenny Omega, and The Young Bucks being off television along with Punk sustaining an injury during his match with Jon Moxley. While he alluded to the general issues the company has faced over the past several weeks, he told Busted Open Radio that his lesson was not forgetting that he had great people around him and people that want him to succeed. Khan mentioned receiving positive feedback and assurances during this period from Bryan Danielson, Jon Moxley, and Chris Jericho. He would not specifically comment on the people not currently featured on television.
While speaking with In The Kliq, Khan wouldn’t speak on MJF’s contractual status following the performer’s comment on The MMA Hour on Monday where he told host Ariel Helwani that he signed a new deal worth more money but without extending his contract beyond January 1, 2024.
Khan told the same show that he couldn’t rule out a future program between The Elite and The Undisputed Elite given that they never got to that match while all the members were in the company. Bobby Fish is no longer with AEW while Adam Cole and Kyle O’Reilly are injured, and Omega & The Young Bucks were suspended following All Out. Khan called them all great wrestlers and two great Trios teams.
He was asked about last week’s story in The Hollywood Reporter regarding a potential merger in several years between NBC Universal and Warner Brothers Discovery but said he definitely could not speculate on that possible outcome.
On the recent Fightful report of the Revolution pay-per-view likely going to the Bay Area in California, Khan couldn’t confirm the exact dates but said they are working on it and will be going to the Bay Area.
