Takeshita is looking to win the KO-D Openweight Title before he heads back.
On 9/25, DDT Pro-Wrestling is holding their ‘Who’s Gonna TOP?’ show and at the event, Konosuke Takeshita is taking on Kazusada Higuchi for the KO-D Openweight Championship.
A press conference was held today ahead of the match and Takeshita said he feels this might be his last match in DDT for the time being before he heads back to the U.S. in October. He wants to bring the title to AEW.
Take: I feel like this might be the last match before I go back there in Oct. Feels like the start of a new era in DDT. But I think Higuchi v Takeshita will bring about a new era in JP Wrestling. I'll bring this title back to AEW

(On defending this belt in AEW?)
Take: DDT's reach in US isn't that huge but if I have the belt there I can show them. And I'm sure challengers will come. I feel my role is to spread the reach of DDT and this is one way of it.⬇️LIVE on YouTubehttps://t.co/1KONPHVU78#ddtpro pic.twitter.com/EQIKPoWctR

The 27-year-old Takeshita competed under the AEW banner at the Tokyo Game Show. He wrapped up his most recent U.S. tour in August and had matches with the likes of Claudio Castagnoli, IMPACT World Champion Josh Alexander, Nick Wayne and newly crowned AEW World Champion Jon Moxley.
