The Ocho Pizza Party

The Jericho Appreciation Society come out to start the show, all decked out in purple, as Chris Jericho is presented under his new nickname ‘The Ocho’. Luigi Primo is in the ring along with balloons, pizza, and flowers. Angelo Parker tells the AEX Galaxy to appreciate them and calls Philadelphia the city of losers. Matt Menard says he put the call in for the ‘pizza guy’ Luigi Primo and asks what kind of pizza he made, to which Luigi said he made the best pizza from New York City as Menard said the fans aren’t getting any pizza. Anna Jay tries to talk as the crowd chants for pizza before introducing Chris Jericho who reiterates that nobody can have pizza. Jericho calls himself the most viewed Ring of Honor Champion of all time and he’s going to change the way ROH is remembered, and calls this the era of Ring of Jericho and he will defend his title tonight against Bandido. Jericho continues talking about how sports entertainers always beat wrestlers and tells Daniel Garcia that he’s an amazing champion and hands him a gift.

As Garcia goes to open it, the crowd chants ‘you’re a wrestler’. Garcia opens the box and it’s a purple bucket hat that Jericho puts on Garcia’s head, who doesn’t seem too thrilled before throwing the hat down and punching out Luigi. Garcia said this isn’t him and not what he visioned to do when he got in this business. Garcia said he tolerated it a little bit but he’s finally had enough and he’s going to say something he’s been meaning to get off his chest for a long time. As Garcia starts saying how he thinks it’s time for something, Jericho stops him and tells him to think about what he will say and to make the right decision. Jericho asks him if he’s a sports entertainer or a pro wrestler, but before Garcia can answer, Bryan Danielson’s music plays as he comes out with William Regal. Danielson, it seems to him that Jericho is telling Garcia what he himself thinks he should be. Danielson tells Garcia he can do whatever he wants, whether it be staying with the Jericho Appreciation Society or coming to the Blackpool Combat Club but Jericho tells him to shut his mouth. Jericho starts saying how Garcia belongs to him and does what he tells him to do, but Garcia takes the mic from him and says he doesn’t belong to Jericho and he doesn’t have to do anything he tells him to do. Garcia starts talking about doing entertaining things and tosses a pizza box to the ground and talks about spinning pizza dough with Luigi and being a tag team with Justin Roberts. Garcia then asks the crowd if they want to see him in a tag team with Bryan Danielson, in which they respond with the yes chant and suggests himself and Danielson against Jericho and Sammy Guevara.

Menard says they are sick of Garcia’s crap and had his back since day one and threaten to knock out Danielson. Danielson says he has some good news and he can come out and have a match against anyone who wants to fight him so he suggests himself vs. Matt Menard and do it right here and right now. We cut to the commentary and see William Regal with them as they put out thoughts to anybody affected by Hurricane Ian.

Bryan Danielson vs. Matt Menard (w/ Angelo Parker)

Bryan Danielson starts the match kicking Matt Menard in the corner, before taking him down to the mat with an arm drag and starts bending back Menard’s fingers. Menard comes back with chops in the corner, but they don’t seem to phase Danielson. Menard puts Danielson on the turnbuckle and pushes him to the outside as they go to picture-in-picture.

When we come back, Menard is in control and starts chopping away at Danielson who starts chopping back. Danielson comes back with a flying forearm and three running kicks in the corner. Angelo Parker interferes a bit, but Claudio Castagnoli runs out and takes Parker out. Danielson hits the Busaiku Knee and puts on the LeBell Lock as Menard taps out.

Winner: Bryan Danielson by submission at 8:40

Mets-JF

We see a video package for MJF and are supposed to hear from him, but instead, Wheeler Yuta makes his way to the ring. Yuta talks about MJF having the audacity to put his hands on Tony Schiavone and he thinks actions should have consequences and what better punishment than for MJF to come out here and fight him in his own city. Yuta mentions all the stuff MJF would probably say, so just skip that and give MJF the ass-kicking he deserves, as MJF makes his way out in a Tom Seaver Mets jersey. MJF starts talking down on the people here and Tony Schiavone but says how he has been wrestling Yuta all his career and says Yuta is one of the best wrestlers in the world. MJF and Yuta start going back and forth talking about sports teams before Yuta tells him enough of that and he will leave MJF in a pool of blood on Broad Street. Before Yuta can go after MJF, Austin Gunn & Colten Gunn come out to back-up MJF. MJF says they can have the match next week before telling Austin Gunn to say his catchphrase for him.

We see a video promoting Darby Allin vs. Jay Lethal happening next week where Lethal says he doesn’t need Satnam Singh and Sonjay Dutt’s help and will do it on his own.

AEW World Championship Eliminator Match: Jon Moxley (c) vs. Juice Robinson

Juice Robinson goes and attacks Jon Moxley as he’s making his entrance before the bell can ring. Taz mentions how Juice is a free agent as the bell rings and they keep brawling on the outside. They cut to MJF who’s sitting up in the stands with his chip. They finally get into the ring and start exchanging forearms. Moxley stops Juice with a big lariat and tries the Death Rider, but Juice pushes him into the ropes and falls to the outside as we go to picture-in-picture.

When we come back, they are both busted open as Moxley hits a cutter for a two count and transitions right into an ankle lock. As Moxley goes for the 10 punches in the corner, Juice rakes Moxley’s eye and powerbombs him down for a two count. Juice hits the Pulp Friction for another two-count and gets frustrated with the referee. Juice tries an airplane spin, but Moxley gets out and hits the Regal Knee before stomping out Juice and puts on a cross-arm breaker that Juice immediately taps out on.

Winner: Jon Moxley by submission at 10:27

As Moxley is celebrating, Adam Page comes out in a sweet Dolly Parton shirt and gets in Moxley’s face. They face off and look like they are about to fight but MJF gets on the mic and tells them to settle down and once they fight at Cincinnati, he might just cash his chip in and become the new champion as he’s a generational talent. Wheeler Yuta shows up behind MJF and starts attacking him, tossing him into a couch before they start fighting into the crowd.

Justin Roberts welcomes Saraya to the ring. Saraya starts by saying she has chills and that she’s back as the crowd welcomes her back. Saraya talks about it being a crazy road and damaged, but not broken. She continues about creating change in this division and her being the revolution. She says how she’s a bit nervous but this is her house and says she’s ignoring the time cues and to bring out the women’s division. Toni Storm, Athena, Madison Rayne, Skye Blue & Willow Nightingale make their way to the ring. Saraya starts to talk about Storm, but out comes Dr. Britt Baker DMD with Rebel, Jamie Hayter, and Penelope Ford. Baker talks about putting her neck on the line for AEW, and unlike Saraya, it’s strong enough to handle it and half the crowd here can’t even say her name right. Saraya comes back saying that Britt’s name rhymes with ‘shit’, although ‘shit’ has been censored lately with crowd noise. Baker and Toni go at it, as Baker says she will be champion soon before introducing Serena Deeb out.

AEW Interim Women’s World Championship Lumberjack Match: Toni Storm (c) vs. Serena Deeb

As they are about to start, Saraya announces this is a Lumberjack Match now with the rest of the women’s roster there as she goes and joins commentary. Right away, Toni Storm takes Serena Deeb to the outside, as the lumberjacks start attacking her. Taz says how they should be ‘lumberjills’, but Saraya says it should be lumberjacks as they are all-inclusive here. Deeb tosses Toni to the outside as all the lumberjacks get involved and we go to picture-in-picture.

When we come back, Toni hits a German Suplex but misses the hip attack, as Deeb counters for a two-count. They trade pin attempts and submission attempts as all the women on the outside start brawling, with Willow Nightingale chasing Jamie Hayter to the back. Toni tries a crossbody from the top, but Deeb counters and puts on a single-leg crab. Toni gets out and hits the hip attack followed by the Storm Zero, but Deeb kicks out. They head to the top rope where Storm hits an avalanche Storm Zero for the pin and the win.

Winner: Toni Storm by pinfall at 11:08, to retain

Two Words For Ya; Scissor Me

Tony Schiavone is backstage with The Acclaimed and Billy Gunn and says next week is National Scissoring Day and they will celebrate, but this Friday they have an open contract to defend their titles. Keith Lee comes in alone and tells Billy Gunn they wouldn’t have won without him, but Billy said he has two words for him; scissor me.

Andrade El Idolo is backstage trying to separate Private Party and The Butcher & The Blade and says they work for him. Jose the Assistant tells Private Party to shape up or get shipped out. Matt Hardy comes in and teases reuniting with Private Party and tells them he promises to do it right.

ROH World Championship: Chris Jericho (c) vs. Bandido

Ian Riccaboni joins commentary for this match as they announce Bandido never received a rematch after losing this title as Chris Jericho makes a mockery of the Code of Honor handshake. Right away, they take it to the outside where Bandido hits a tope and dives onto Jericho as they go to picture-in-picture.

When we come back from commercial we see the British Royal Navy crew members in the crowd as Bandido holds up Jericho in a vertical suplex for about a minute as the crowd gets up for that feat. Bandido follows that with a big Frog Splash for a two count. They fight on the top rope, before coming down and Jericho catching Bandido with the Code Breaker for a two count. They end up spilling to the outside with a hurricanrana as they go picture-in-picture.

When we come back, we see blood on Bandido’s mask, followed by a sunset bomb and a Lionsault by Jericho. Bandido comes back with a crucifix bomb but gets a two-count. Jericho is able to counter Bandido and puts on the Walls of Jericho, but Bandido crawls until he reaches for the rope to break it up as Jericho thought he won. Jericho hits a suplex from the apron to the ring, and goes to the top rope, but Bandido kicks him down. They go to the top rope, where Bandido hits the fall away moonsault but Jericho barely kicks out at two. Bandido hits Jericho with the X-Knee, followed by the 21 Plex, as Jericho kicks out again. As Bandido tries to get Jericho up, he pokes him in the eye and pulls on his mask, before putting on the Liontamer as Bandido, whose vision is obscured, taps out.

Winner: Chris Jericho by submission at 18:25, to retain
