The match against Taiji Ishimori is off.

Last month, KUSHIDA was diagnosed with hand, foot and mouth disease and New Japan Pro-Wrestling pulled him from their upcoming events. Since then, KUSHIDA had been scheduled for ‘Declaration of Power’ on October 10th and was going to face Taiji Ishimori.

That match is no longer taking place because KUSHIDA is still recovering from the disease he contracted. The announcement(s) about the changes to the match card will be made before the event. NJPW pushed out the following:

Thank you for supporting New Japan Pro-Wrestling.

KUSHIDA, who was scheduled to face Taiji Ishimori at Declaration of Power in Ryogoku on Monday October 10, is still recovering from a bout with hand foot and mouth disease, and will not be cleared to compete.

We apologize to fans who were looking forward to seeing KUSHIDA wrestle, and appreciate your understanding.

There will be a change to Monday’s card, to be announced at a later time before the event.

NJPW joins fans in wishing KUSHIDA a full and speedy recovery.

Per the C.D.C., the disease is common in children under five-years-old but anyone can contract it. It is usually not serious but is very contagious. KUSHIDA has not wrestled since September 15th.
