AEW Dynamite – “Title Tuesday”

AEW World Trios Championship: Death Triangle (Penta El Zero M, Rey Fenix & PAC) (c) (w/ Alex Abrahantes) vs. Best Friends (Chuck Taylor & Trent Beretta) & Orange Cassidy
Trent Beretta & PAC start the match, as PAC right away knocks Orange Cassidy off the apron. Rey Fenix and Chuck Taylor quickly get tagged in, as Penta El Zero M joins in. Orange and the Best Friends try a triple-team move, but get tossed to the outside and hit with dives from all three members of Death Triangle. Excalibur brings up the Lucha Brothers being in the final two matches three days ago at AAA TripleMania: Mexico City. Fenix keeps Orange in his corner with chops as they go picture-in-picture.
When we come back, PAC is in control of Orange, but he is able to fight back before getting taken down by a sling blade from Penta. Taylor and Fenix get involved in this match, followed by Beretta hitting a tornado DDT on Fenix. Lucha Brothers block a hurricanrana attempt from Orange, as PAC finishes him off with a dropkick. They continue to triple-team on Orange, ending on a German Suplex from PAC for a two-count. The Best Friends then start double-teaming PAC and Penta, hitting Penta with a pair of piledrivers. They set Penta up, as Orange splashes off the Best Friends’ shoulders onto Penta for a pin attempt that PAC breaks up at two. PAC tags himself in and brings the hammer into the ring, but Fenix stops him. Orange rolls up Pac in the confusion for a two count, followed by an Orange Punch but he tags out to Beretta as Penta tags in as well. Beretta catches Penta as Taylor hits the Strong Zero, but Fenix breaks up the count and hits them with a double cutter. Fenix follows that by hitting Beretta with a Fire Driver for the pin and the win.
Winners: Death Triangle (Rey Fenix, Penta El Zero M & PAC) by pinfall at 11:46, to retain
We see a video of Jon Moxley driving around Cincinnati. Adam Page joins in and talks about their history in AEW including the Ladder Match. Moxley says Page won’t take anything in his home city.
Looking Ahead
Tony Schiavone is backstage with Dr. Britt Baker DMD, Jamie Hayter & Rebel as Baker says she’s disgusted in today’s match with Toni Storm & Hikaru Shida, and by the end of 2022 either she or Hayter will be AEW Women’s World Champion.
AEW Interim Women’s World Championship: Toni Storm (c) vs. Hikaru Shida
The crowd seems split for this match, as they lock up. They run the ropes until Hikaru Shida drops Toni Storm with a dropkick, and tries to celebrate on the apron but gets knocked down and out with a hip attack as we go picture-in-picture.
When we come back, Shida is hitting the ten punches to Storm in the corner and follows with a missile dropkick for a two-count. They get into a forearm exchange before Shida knocks Storm with a kick, and falls down herself. They head to the top where Storm is going for the avalanche Storm Zero, but gets dropped with headbutts followed by a Meteora and a gut-wrench slam for a two. Storm reverses out of a Falcon Arrow and hits a release German Suplex. Shida comes back and takes control, but Storm blocks the Katana. They battle back and forth until Storm hits a DDT off the ropes followed by the Storm Zero for the pin.
Winner: Toni Storm by pinfall at 8:42, to retain
Jamie Hayter and Rebel jump into the ring and start attacking Toni Storm with a crutch, as Dr. Britt Baker DMD makes her way to the ring in a Pittsburgh Steelers jersey to a shower of boos. Before she can make it to the ring, Saraya makes her way out and takes out Baker. Rebel takes out Storm with the crutch, as Saraya tosses Baker over the guard rail. Riho makes her way down to the ring and takes out Rebel and Hayter, including a flying crossbody to Hayter on the outside.
The Wrong Ones
We see a video from Wardlow and Samoa Joe who say they have zero tolerance for disrespect and tell The Embassy and The Kingdom to pick a championship for them to challenge.
The Fourth Championship
Renee Paquette is backstage with FTR and talks about how great of a 2022 they have been having and being #1 contender for the AEW World Tag Team Championship. Dax Harwood says they want to be the greatest tag team of all time and mentions Dragon Lee & Dralistico, The Gates of Agony, and The Kingdom going after them, but they want the fourth belt with the AEW titles being their ultimate goal. Cash Wheeler says they have to be champions or they can’t live with themselves, but Swerve Strickland and Keith Lee interrupt them. Lee gets upset at Swerve for the way he’s speaking to them but agrees that they deserve a title shot so Harwood challenges them to a #1 contender match next week on Dynamite.
Darby’s Weakness
Alex Marvez is with Jay Lethal, Sonjay Dutt and Darby Allin where Lethal asks Darby for a rematch as the last match was a fluke and he can beat him anytime he wants. Darby says he will beat Lethal again and again and again, but Dutt says they know Darby’s weakness, and a good personal friend told them and Dutt calls Darby a trash panda. Darby starts pushing them but he gets attacked by Lethal and Dutt and thrown into a garage door. Lethal tells Dutt to lower the door on Darby, which they do, and continue to stomp him out. Lethal goes on the other side and puts on the figure four.
I Look Forward To Reviewing Your Progress
Tony Schiavone is in the ring with William Regal and starts asking about tonight’s match with Jon Moxley and Adam Page, but quickly gets interrupted by MJF who makes his way to the ring. MJF tells Regal he isn’t here to fight, just to talk, and tells Regal to put the brass knuckles away, which he does. MJF says he is going to tell a story, and it doesn’t matter how long it is as Regal owes him that. MJF says when he was 19 years old training for one year, he got pulled to the side by Brian Myers and Pat Buck who told him he got WWE extra work. MJF says it was an opportunity and that’s all he needed and drives to the Barclays Center and when the extras were all together, they got spoken to by Regal. Regal tells them they would all have try out matches, and MJF’s match was second as Arn Anderson, Dean Malenko, Adam Pierce and Regal watched on.
MJF says he was shaking and was fighting for his life, not a contract, as professional wrestling is his life. After the match was over, everyone looked at him like he had eight heads and Regal told MJF to follow him and said ‘Kid, you got three minutes to sell yourself to me, go.’ and MJF did. By the time MJF was done walking, Regal’s jaw was on the floor and he said ‘Kid, I’m going to get you a job here today.’ MJF knew then he would be a superstar but when MJF told Regal he was 19 years old, Regal said ‘I’m sorry, but you’re much too young’, as the crowd chants ‘you fucked up’. Regal then said he only put his name on people like Claudio Castagnoli, Bryan Danielson and Jon Moxley and told MJF when he becomes of age he will personally put his name on him and until then he wants him to send him a match and a promo every single month. MJF says he busted his ass, and Regal would respond with ‘I look forward to reviewing your progress’. On month three, Regal sent MJF a promo and MJF saved it and went to read the e-mail. ‘Max, I’m a very very busy man. I’ve got talent from all over the world to watch and I’ve had to see you show your acting skills. Don’t reply to this, but how would this make me say, hire Max.’ MJF continues and says ‘the WWE exclusively hires the best talent in the world, and when you’re one of them, send me your stuff.’ MJF starts yelling and tells Regal this is real life and when he read that email he wanted to quit wrestling and his life, that email made him want to kill himself, but then he realized if he did Regal and the naysayers would win but now the year is 2022 and Regal is nothing more than a sad, withered old man who got fired. MJF says he is now a generational talent and Regal’s former employer would die to sign him now. MJF reads that email whenever he needs a laugh, as Regal has become a joke to him and MJF is about to become the AEW World Champion.
Regal grabs a mic and says at 16 he went to work at a carnival and had to fight grown men to get into this industry. He wanted to try to cast MJF aside, he saw somebody who was going to be a big star and he wanted to light a fire under his backside. Regal said at 17 he got smashed in the face and if it took an email to get MJF to that level, he had it easy and that’s exactly what he had. Regal says he told MJF plenty of times to practice until people took notice of him. Regal said before MJF was born, he talked down to Tony Schiavone but he never put his hands on him like MJF did. Regal knew MJF had it in him, the only problem is MJF let him down because he took shortcuts and he hasn’t done anything to prove himself, just because he’s making lots of money. Regal mentions MJF having to use a ring to win, and he only used his brass knuckles before he liked it. Regal said MJF needs to make a name for himself and beat everybody in front of him, and if he wants to be the devil, show the world right now. Regal turns his back on MJF, as MJF puts on his diamond ring, teases hitting Regal but doesn’t. Regal says MJF still has a lot to prove and leaves the ring.
Titles vs. Trademarks
Renee Pacquette is backstage with The Acclaimed and Billy Gunn and says everybody wants a piece of them, especially Mark Sterling. Billy Gunn says it’s true, as on Rampage they are going to face Tony Nese & Josh Woods, titles vs. trademarks. Max Caster said they will stomp them in the nuts.
I Shouldn’t Have Met My Hero
When we come back from the commercial, we see a sit-down interview from Renee Paquette with Bryan Danielson and Wheeler Yuta. Danielson says it wasn’t fun losing the ROH World Title match against Chris Jericho. Danielson says he has high hopes for Daniel Garcia and Garcia could surpass a lot that Danielson has done, as Yuta seems to be visually upset at this in which Renee notices. Yuta asks Danielson how he wasn’t surprised at what Garcia did, and was using Danielson to get what he wanted. Yuta thought when he bled for the Blackpool Combat Club he thought it meant something, and it does for Claudio and Moxley but it doesn’t mean anything to Danielson and he guesses he shouldn’t have met his hero.
ROH World Championship: Chris Jericho (c) (w/ Jake Hager) vs. Dalton Castle (w/ The Boys)
Dalton Castle has a dozen or so ‘boys’ in an elaborate entrance as Ian Riccaboni joins commentary. Chris Jericho comes out with Jake Hager, who’s still wearing the purple bucket hat. Jericho puts his hand out, but Castle just puts it down his trunk to reveal a middle finger. Castle takes Jericho down with a pair of shoulder tackles and a hip throw, before getting tossed to the outside by Jericho. Castle starts running around the ring with his Boys before going back inside and tossing Jericho around. While going through the upcoming events, Excalibur announces ROH Final Battle will take place Saturday, December 10th in Arlington, Texas at a special start time of 4 PM EST. Hager gets on the apron, but Castle uses a bunch of Boys to toss into him as they go picture-in-picture.
As we come back, Castle has Jericho in the corner with chops, but misses a splash in the corner and goes flying to the outside. They continue to fight on the outside, as Castle dodges a running Hager who gets beat down by The Boys. Back inside, Jericho and Castle take each other down with a double crossbody, as one of the Boys takes Hager’s purple hat which drives Hager wild as he destroys all the Boys. Castle reverses the Walls of Jericho and puts on the Julie Newmar bodyscissors. Jericho reverses it into the Walls of Jericho, as Excalibur brings up Castle’s history with a broken back, but Castle grabs the rope to break it up. Jericho gets in Aubrey Edwards face, but she doesn’t stand down. They start exchanging forearms, before Castle blocks the Lionsault into a German Suplex for a two. Castle blocks the Code Breaker and hits the Bangarang but Jericho kicks out at two. They go back and forth until Jericho hits the Judas Effect for the pin and the win.
Winner: Chris Jericho by pinfall at 12:27, to retain
The rest of the Jericho Appreciation Society (sans Sammy Guevara and Tay Melo) come out to celebrate with Jericho on stage. Jericho tells everybody to honor the Ocho and Ring of Honor champions, ring announcers and commentators are now out as Matt Menard and Angelo Parker go and grab Ian Riccaboni. Before they can attack him, Jerry Lynn runs out and gets in Jericho’s face, but he low blows him and tombstones Lynn on top of the ROH title.
We see a video from Christian Cage talking about how he hasn’t brainwashed Luchasaurus, and he was actually the brains of Jurassic Express. Cage says they are onto bigger and better things and they are going after gold.

AEW World Championship: Jon Moxley (c) vs. Adam Page
William Regal joined commentary for this match as MJF is shown in the stands with his chip. As Jon Moxley is making his entrance, Adam Page goes after him in the crowd. Page attacks him and suplexes Moxley onto the floor before heading up the stands, as the match hasn’t officially begun. Page goes to the top of the bleachers and moonsaults onto Moxley as we go to picture-in-picture.
When we come back, the match has officially started but they are both on the outside as Moxley’s forehead is busted open. Page places Moxley on the steel steps and starts punching away at his forehead. They take it inside the ring, where Page hits a snap suplex for a two. Moxley comes back and puts on a figure four with a middle finger for Page. Page comes back with chops, as Moxley encourages them before reverses and gives chops himself. Page hits a fallaway slam as the crowd boos him, and Moxley hits him with a cutter. Moxley places Page on the top rope, rakes his back and hits a superplex for a two count. Moxley holds on to Page’s hands and starts stomping away before putting on an armbar, but Page crawls and places his foot on the rope. We show the skybox, but MJF isn’t there anymore as Page hits Moxley with a Dead Eye on the apron as they go to picture-in-picture.
When we return, they are fighting on the top rope where Page hits a top rope fallaway slam for a two-count. They go back and forth until Page hits a lariat, but Moxley comes back with one of his own. Doc Samson comes in and starts checking on Page as Paul Turner ends the match.
Winner: Jon Moxley by referee stoppage at 11:53, to retain
MJF Cashes In…
William Regal makes his way down to the ring and congratulates Moxley as Excalibur runs down the Rampage and Dynamite cards again to kill time as the match ended with 10 minutes left on the show. The crowd cheered for Adam Page as he was being helped out. Moxley grabs the microphone and says he hopes and prays that Page recovers to 100% and comes to perform for the fans again. Moxley starts talking about MJF and says since the Yankees didn’t go extra innings they have some time to kill and calls out MJF. MJF comes out with Bryce Remsburg and his poker chip as Regal asks MJF what he’s doing. As the match is about to start, MJF hands the chip to Regal and runs to grab a mic. MJF says he’s a man and doesn’t cut corners so instead he’s going to cash in when Moxley is 110% and doesn’t want any excuses. And when he beats him clean that there isn’t a question that’s better than him and he’s cashing in at Full Gear and for the first time in his miserable life, he’s going to earn it. Moxley grabs a mic and says MJF is going to earn the heel of his boot in MJF’s mouth and says more that continues to be censored with crowd noise and talks about all of MJF’s body parts breaking down at Full Gear and it’s dangerous to get in the ring with Moxley.
