Kobashi retired from wrestling earlier this year.
Back in April, Tokyo Joshi Pro Wrestling hosted Marika Kobashi’s retirement match. She made the decision to step back from wrestling in 2021.
After six months away from the ring, it has been announced that Marika is making her in-ring return. She’ll be competing for the P.P.P. Tokyo promotion on November 22nd. Kobashi is tagging with Sumire Natsu and they’ll be facing Rina Yamashita and Chanyota.

The ‘Battle News’ website has a recap of the press conference for the 11/22 show and Marika was present for it. She explained that she departed TJPW to pursue other ventures outside of wrestling such as studying aboard. She fulfilled the requirements to do so and during that time period, her desire to wrestle overseas grew stronger so she decided to take this return match thinking that it will help her pursue that aforementioned desire.
She spoke highly of her time in TJPW and shared that she had many discussions with them before this announcement was made. Kobashi sought out their approval and received their blessing.
I am Marika Kobashi. I am pleased to announce that I will be returning to wrestling for P.P.P. Tokyo on November 22! In April, I graduated from Tokyo Women’s Pro Wrestling, which I used to be a member of and in order to pursue my favorite things from now on, the first thing I wanted to do was to study abroad. I have currently fulfilled all the requirements for studying abroad at university and in the process, my desire to wrestle overseas has grown stronger. For this reason, I decided to return to Japan first, thinking that it would help me appeal for my future activities related to overseas. I had the opportunity to watch a few matches at P.P.P. through a mutual acquaintance, and I was very impressed. However, it is definitely thanks to Tokyo Women’s Pro Wrestling that I am here today, and I have a lot of love for my many friends and a certain pride in the path I have taken. Therefore, I had many discussions with Tokyo Women’s Pro Wrestling beforehand, and they were willing to kindly send me off. I am really excited about the future. I take full responsibility for my decision, and I would be very happy if you, the fans and everyone involved would support me in my decision.
Marika’s career began in 2016 and it started with Tokyo Joshi Pro. She has wrestled for the promotion every year of her career thus far.
