The tournament to crown a new X Division Championship continued to unfold on the 10/27 IMPACT on AXS. Trey Miguel bested Alan Angels and on ‘Before the IMPACT’, Black Taurus defeated Laredo Kid to advance out of the first round. On the November 3rd show, Kenny King is taking on ‘Speedball’ Mike Bailey and Yuya Uemura is facing P.J. Black in first round matches.

There was a segment on tonight’s program when Matt Taven and Mike Bennett approached Scott D’Amore. It resulted in D’Amore ‘firing’ the duo. Taven and Bennett made their AEW on-screen debuts on October 14th. It has been reported by Fightful Select that Taven, Bennett and Maria Kanellis-Bennett are under contract to AEW.

Aussie Open (Kyle Fletcher & Mark Davis) along with commentator Matt Rehwoldt were both featured on tonight’s IMPACT on AXS and NJPW ‘The Night Before Rumble on 44th Street’ simultaneously.

Staying on the Aussie Open front, they issued an open challenge for next week and answering the call is Frankie Kazarian and IMPACT World Champion Josh Alexander. The ‘Overdrive’ opponents came together when Kazarian saved Alexander from a beat down from Steve Maclin.

There is going to be a singles match between Eric Young and Sami Callihan on 11/3.
