The event is being revived.
In honor of Antonio Inoki who passed away at the age of 79 in late September, the INOKI BOM-BA-YE event is being revived. It will be held on December 28th at Ryōgoku Sumo Hall in Tokyo, Japan.
This event coming back is what Inoki had listed in his will, per a write-up from Tokyo Sports. It is being revived in collaboration with the mixed martial arts event ‘Ganryujima’ which is produced by Sadaharu Tanigawa, who is a combat sports promoter.
There is a video covering the announcement on Inoki’s YouTube channel featuring Hitoshi Takahashi, representative of the Inoki Genki Factory.

According to Takahashi, they had been discussing the idea of bringing INOKI BOM-BAY-YE back prior to Inoki’s passing.
Sanigawa backed that statement and added that this was not launched because of Inoki’s passing and he informed them that he wanted to do this at the end of 2022. When he passed, the event was converted into a memorial for him. Tanagawa is hoping that wrestlers and MMA fighters from around the world participate.
