After giving his notice to the promotion, the NWA suspended Nick Aldis and removed him from this weekend’s Hard Times 3 event.

The former NWA champion had released a video on Sunday, which was quickly deleted, noting that he had requested his release from the NWA.

On Monday, the promotion issued the following statement to PWinsider.com stating he was suspended:

Pursuant to the recent comments made by Nick Aldis, the National Wrestling Alliance, has suspended Aldis from the main roster and effective immediately Aldis will not appear for the Hard Times 3 PPV and Revolution Rumble television tapings in New Orleans, LA on Nov. 12, 2022 and Nov. 13, 2022.

As such, the National Wrestling Alliance reserves its right to comment on this matter at a future date.

The site contacted NWA chief operating officer Joe Galli, who stated on the record to PWinsider that “this is not a wrestling angle” and that Aldis’ deal with the NWA is set to expire on December 31st, 2022.

Aldis has been removed from the Hard Times 3 pay-per-view where he was scheduled to face Odinson.

Aldis issues the following comments after the news of his suspension broke:

Aldis, 36, is a two-time NWA Worlds Heavyweight Champion and was the key figure in the restructuring of the NWA over the past several years.

Aldis first won the title in December 2017 and dropped the belt to Cody Rhodes in a memorable match at the “All In” event in September 2018 prior to regaining it from Rhodes the next month at the NWA’s 70th Anniversary event.

Aldis dropped the title for the last time to Trevor Murdoch in August 2021.
