Newly crowned NXT Tag Team Champions The New Day (Kofi Kingston & Xavier Woods) had an in-ring segment on tonight’s program with the former champions Pretty Deadly (Kit Wilson & Elton Prince). They were joined by Josh Briggs and Brooks Jensen. New Day, Brooks and Briggs joked about Pretty Deadly not knowing the National Anthem. It was later made official that Woods and Kingston will be defending their titles on 12/20 against Brooks and Briggs.
During their in-ring segment, Kofi called out Booker T for being ‘salty’ on commentary about he and Woods coming to NXT.
Lyra Valkyria made her NXT on USA Network debut. She picked up a win over Amari Miller in singles competition. This was Lyra’s first sanctioned match since August.

As a conversation was happening backstage about the women’s Iron Survivor Challenge at Deadline, Elektra Lopez criticized Indi Hartwell’s shortcomings which led to Hartwell attacking her.
