AEW Dynamite ranked third among cable originals with its largest 18-49 audience in over two months.
The December 14th Winter is Coming special averaged 950,000 viewers and approximately 428,000 (0.33) in the 18-49 demographic, per Brandon Thurston of Wrestlenomics and Showbuzz Daily.
It was the show’s largest viewership since October 26th and the best 18-49 figure since October 5th with both numbers up 13% from last week.
The show also performed well among adults 18-34, which increased by 11% this week and was its highest number in that demo since Grand Slam in September. Dynamite topped the late game between the Minnesota Timberwolves and L.A. Clippers among the 18-34 demo.
Male viewership saw spikes among the 18-49, 18-34, and 35-49 demos.
The show’s overall viewership was swelled by an 17% uptick among adults 50+ which did 0.41 in the demo this week.
AEW finished third among cable originals behind the two NBA games on ESPN. Dynamite went head-to-head with the Chicago Bulls vs. New York Knicks, which was first on cable with 1.24 million viewers and 0.45 in the demo.
In Canada, AEW’s English language edition of Dynamite averaged 86,000 viewers and 46,000 in the 25-54 demographic on TSN 2. It was the most-watched episode of Dynamite in the country since November 16th.
Winter is Coming featured the first AEW Championship defense by MJF against Ricky Starks as well as the fourth match in the best-of-seven series between Death Triangle and The Elite with the two matches bookending the program from Garland, Texas.
