A documentary is coming about Shinjiro Otani.

Since April 2022, Shinjiro Otani has been hospitalized as a result of a cervical spinal cord injury. The latest on Otani’s status is that he remains paralyzed from the neck down, but his respiratory dysfunction improved.

There is a documentary coming about Otani’s road to recovery that Kenzo Suzuki produced. Suzuki wrestled for WWE, NJPW, CMLL, AAA and still wrestles present day. He produced the documentary about Antonio Inoki that aired on NHK BS Premium in Japan.

The documentary about Otani is titled ‘Rebellious Spirit of Pro Wrestling: Shinjiro Otani, Warrior of the Flame’ and is coming out on BS Fuji on 12/28. Otani took to his Twitter and thanked Suzuki for creating the documentary. He added that he apologizes for not being able to accept all requests due to hospital regulations.

Otani had been primarily wrestling for ZERO1 and the promotion still features him on their event posters. A total amount of 26,019, 224 yen has been donated to Otani as of November 2022.
