Bushiroad CEO Takaaki Kidani commented on the potential appearance of Mercedes Varnado at Wrestle Kingdom 17.
The head of Bushiroad was asked about Varnado appearing at the event by Yahoo and told the outlet that “There’s a chance she’ll come to the dome”.
The article goes on to speculate that Varnado could appear on the show to issue a challenge for the IWGP Women’s Championship, which is the obvious direction for Varnado and setting up a match for the title.
PWinsider.com was the first to report that the former Sasha Banks was expected to attend the January 4th card which would be her first appearance since leaving WWE.
Wrestle Kingdom 17 will be streaming on New Japan World next Wednesday with the show beginning at 1:30 a.m. ET.
