Friday night’s edition of SmackDown is set to achieve the show’s highest rating since 2020, according to overnight data.

The prediction is based on a “fast affiliate” estimated rating of 2.44 million viewers, which has been confirmed by Brandon Thurston of Wrestlenomics.

Thurston noted that the final viewership figure, which will be released on Tuesday, January 3rd, is likely to be around 2.6 million.

Friday’s SmackDown featured a rare appearance by John Cena and followed a “best of” show in the Monday Night Raw slot this week.

More information is available in a free post on the Wrestlenomics site.

POST Wrestling will report the final ratings, along with key demographic information, once they are released on Tuesday.
