AEW Rampage falls to #28 on cable for final episode of 2022

AEW Rampage slipped in its viewership figures for the final episode of 2022.

The December 30th taped episode from Broomfield averaged 470,000 viewers and approximately 154,000 (0.12) in the 18-49 demographic, which ranked #28 among cable originals on Friday. (Data from Wrestlenomics and Showbuzz Daily).

The overall audience fell by 17 percent while the 18-49 demo dropped by 35 percent. It was their lowest viewership since December 16th and their lowest demo figure since December 9th.

The major drop was in the 18-34 demographic, which fell by 47 percent from last week’s big number with men in the demo decreasing by 68 percent this week with its lowest male audience in the demo since December 2nd.

In the 18-49 demographic, men fell by 45 percent and females declined by 16 percent.

Among adults 35-49, male viewership was down by 29 percent and females dropped by 18 percent.  

The only demo that held up was adults 50+, which did a 0.25  last week and remained the same.

The show included a main event match between Wheeler Yuta and Swerve Strickland, Orange Cassidy defending the All-Atlantic title against Trent Beretta, and a TBS title defense by Jade Cargill against Kiera Hogan.

Rampage ranked #28 among cable originals and aired against the Orange Bowl on ESPN (8.59 million viewers and 2.0 in 18-49), a soccer game on TUDN (414,000 viewers and 0.17), and an NBA game on NBA TV (498,000 viewers and 0.14 in 18-49).

This Friday’s episode is a live episode from Portland, Oregon, and will be a two-hour hour with Rampage at 10 p.m. ET followed by Battle of the Belts on TNT.
