Updated card for NXT New Year’s Evil, 20-woman battle royal added

The first edition of NXT for the new year saw several matches added to next Tuesday’s New Year’s Evil special.

The two-hour special on 1/10 will be headlined by Bron Breakker defending the NXT Championship against Grayson Waller. Their show-closing segment feature Breakker appearing on the Grayson Waller Effect and culminated with Waller telling Breakker that he stole his Dad’s gimmick and Breakker striking Waller and hitting a powerslam. Breakker followed by executing a tope con giro while holding Waller’s phone and standing tall.

A 20-man battle royal has been added to next Tuesday’s show with the winner receiving an NXT Women’s Championship shot against Roxanne Perez at NXT Vengeance Day on 2/4 in Charlotte, North Carolina. The segment featured the women’s locker room emptying and the women brawling in the ring when Perez appeared and announced next week’s battle royal.

Dijak defeated Stacks on Tuesday’s show and continued his attack when Tony D’Angelo saved his partner and issued a challenge to Dijak for next week. The winner of the match will receive a future North American title match against Wes Lee, who will be on commentary during the match with Vic Joseph and Booker T.

Pretty Deadly will be part of a gauntlet match will three others teams and if they win, they will receive a rematch with the New Day for the NXT tag titles.

A scheduled match between Charlie Dempsey and Hank Walker was delayed by one week and has been added to New Year’s Evil. On the program, they stated Dempsey was injured and showed the performer wearing a sling. Later in the show, he appeared without the sling and they announced he would face Walker next week.

New Year’s Evil will also feature Indus Sher taking on the Creed Brothers.
