Okada wins the belt and immediately meets his next challenger.
Closing out NJPW Wrestle Kingdom 17 was Kazuchika Okada and Jay White competing for the IWGP World Heavyweight Championship.
Okada previously held the IWGP Heavyweight belt five times and is now a three-time holder of the World Heavyweight Championship. He defeated Jay after connecting with ‘The Rainmaker’.
Immediately after Okada’s win, he was joined in the ring by Shingo Takagi, who’ll be competing for the KOPW Championship at New Year Dash. Takagi issued a challenge to Okada and said he’d put the KOPW belt on the line in their title match.
Okada responded by telling Takagi to get out of the vicinity.
