Omega and Okada reunite, the next NJPW TAMASHII show, 'Just Four Guys' forms, Okada accepts Shingo Takagi's challenge, YOH wants Hiromu

Headlining NJPW New Year Dash was a tag match that saw United Empire’s Jeff Cobb and Aaron Henare take on IWGP U.S. Heavyweight Champion Kenny Omega and IWGP World Heavyweight Champion Kazuchika Okada. The former rivals Okada and Omega scored the win.

Omega came out to the ‘Devil’s Sky’ theme that he used for a lengthy portion of his NJPW run. Omega was approached by Jeff Cobb after the match. As for Okada, he accepted Shingo Takagi’s challenge and wants to make it a double title bout with Shingo’s KOPW Championship on the line as well.

The next NJPW TAMASHII event date is February 4th in Australia.

An eight-man tag took place that saw YOH, Ryusuke Taguchi, Shota Umino and Togi Makabe best Los Ingobernables de Japon (Tetsuya Naito, Hiromu Takahashi, BUSHI & SANADA). YOH pinned newly crowned IWGP Junior Heavyweight Champion Hiromu Takahashi and challenged him to a title match afterwards.

Ren Narita was part of six-man tag to start off New Year Dash and post-match, he was ambushed by House of Torture. Coming out for the save were Minoru Suzuki and El Desperado.

A new group was formed and they are called ‘Just Four Guys’ which consists of TAKA Michinoku, DOUKI, Taichi and Yoshinobu Kanemaru. Taichi, Kanemaru and DOUKI were in action against United Empire’s TJP, Francesco Akira and Will Ospreay, who received an ovation from the audience after his loss to Kenny Omega at Wrestle Kingdom 17. ‘Just Four Guys’ got the victory in the match.
