Huxley said being in NXT UK helped him become a better wrestler, performer and person.

In the summer of 2022, WWE formally announced that the NXT UK brand is going on hiatus and come 2023, it would be replaced by the launch of NXT Europe

After that announcement was made, a multitude of wrestlers who were on the NXT UK roster were let go from WWE or opted to become a free agent

One of the names let go was Saxon Huxley. He looked back on his release while speaking to ‘SO CATCH by Hal 2’. Initially, he was sad about being let go but then became excited about being able to take what he learned there and use it on the independents.

At first, it was a little sad (being released from WWE). I thought, I won’t be around everybody. That’s kind of, oh damn, that’s the end of the tapings but at the same time, I just instantly, the same day, I thought, you know what? Let’s take what I’ve learned, let’s take all the experiences and just move forward because nothing lasts forever and I was there a long time, more than I originally thought. I didn’t know what was going to happen. It was kind of the unknown, exciting. But, I just embraced it, and I thought, let’s get busy and let’s just get out there and get amongst the scene again and try and apply what I learned so I was kind of excited to do that. Like used what I learned to get straight back out there so, real positive outlook. I took it straight away and turned it positive and projected that.

He was asked what he takes from his time in WWE and said there are a mix of things he keeps with him. He feels being there helped him as a performer, wrestler and in some ways made him a better person.

A mix of all those things you just said (is what I take from my time in WWE). I think I became a better performer, a better wrestler, in some ways a better person, through just being five-and-a-half years in that company, being around that group, that crew, that’s what I look back fondly on. The things I learned, the experiences I had… you can’t replace stuff like that. It was just really fantastic.

On the topic of NXT Europe, Huxley stated that he’s focused on wrestling right now. He does hope something comes along, but will deal with that down the line if it comes.

My goal is just to get focused on wrestling. If something comes along, I’m hoping things come along but, I like to take that as it comes down the line, we’ll see. I don’t know.

NXT UK talents such as Tyler Bate, Isla Dawn, Blair Davenport, Gallus (Joe Coffey, Mark Coffey & Wolfgang) crossed over to NXT in the U.S. following the closing of NXT UK.
