Hiromu Takahashi is set to defend the IWGP Jr. Heavyweight Championship next month.

The champion was issued a challenge by Lio Rush this past Saturday at the New Beginning card in Osaka, and the match is confirmed for Tuesday, March 21st in Niigata.

The title will be defended as part of the New Japan Cup Final when the 24-man tournament wraps up.

Rush has not competed in New Japan since suffering a broken nose at Wrestle Kingdom 17 teaming with YOH against TJP & Francesco Akira.

Takahashi recently defeated YOH to retain the championship at the New Beginning in Sapporo event on 2/5.
