The first set of Ring of Honor television tapings under Tony Khan is set for this month.
As first reported by Fightful Select and Voices of Wrestling, Tony Khan has confirmed on Busted Open Radio that the tapings will take place Saturday, February 25th, and Sunday, February 26th at Universal Studios in Orlando, Florida.
It marks the first tapings since Khan purchased the brand last year and staged three pay-per-view events throughout 2022.
Khan had previously said the weekly ROH television series would be housed on the Honor Club streaming service.
Ring of Honor’s next major card is Supercard of Honor which will take on Friday, March 31st in Los Angeles over WrestleMania Weekend.
Tickets for the tapings will go on sale this Thursday.
Will HC also have the PPVs included or just these shows ?
Currently ROH PPV’s will be available on a 90 day delay.
I think a lot of this could change when the AEW TV rights go up for sale. TK has stated he didn’t look outside WBD too hard to find ROH TV, in an effort to keep that relationship on best terms heading into a potential renegotiation.
I think the big question is who is booking these shows?
It should not be Tony Khan. AEW should be where all his attention is going. And there have been examples of where things have reflected poorly on AEW because he wasn’t paying enough attention to it.
I also think it would be more interesting if ROH had a different formula than AEW to differentiate the products and that could come from having somebody else in charge. Maybe there is a booking guru already behind the scenes just waiting for a chance?
I agree there should be a different booker and booking philosophy for ROH, but as far as I know Tony Khan is the booker, but I think there are agents dedicated to ROH matches available.
