WWE star Sonya Deville was arrested in February for the alleged possession of a firearm without the correct state permit, according to reports.

Earlier on Wednesday, TMZ and Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful both reported the incident.

The arrest allegedly took place in Atlantic City, New Jersey, on February 19th.

According to the reports, the 29-year-old, real name Daria Berenato, has a Florida permit for the weapon, which is not valid in New Jersey.

TMZ states that a firearm was discovered in her vehicle by a valet, who called the authorities.

Both outlets outline that Berenato acquired the weapon for personal protection after enduring a home invasion in August 2020.

After that incident, Philip A. Thomas, 24, was charged with aggravated stalking, armed burglary of a dwelling, attempted armed kidnapping, and criminal mischief. He was found unfit for trial in a competency hearing and transferred to a mental health facility.

Sapp states that Berenato is scheduled for a court appearance later in March and is working to have the charges dropped.
