Wardlow managed to beat Samoa Joe at his own game to submit the veteran at AEW Revolution for the TNT Championship.
His title reign could prove brief as he must face Powerhouse Hobbs on Wednesday’s edition of Dynamite. Hobbs, who taunted Wardlow from the stands, won the Face of the Revolution ladder match this past Wednesday.

In the final stretch, Wardlow avoided a muscle buster and hit a powerbomb on Joe. He attempted the Powerbomb Symphony but Joe dodged it and hit Warlow with a lariat.
After evading a crucifix bomb from Joe, Wardow hit a headbutt before cinching in a rear naked choke, causing Joe to pass out and handing Wardlow the submission win.
