UFC Hall of Famer Daniel Cormier is to lead coverage of WrestleMania 39 for ESPN.

Speaking to Justin Barrasso of Sports Illustrated, Cormier said, “I’m going to WrestleMania. The first week of April for ESPN, I’ll be leading the coverage for WrestleMania. I’m so excited about it.”

Cormier, a longstanding wrestling fan, was the special referee in the Fight Pit match between Matt Riddle and Seth Rollins at Extreme Rules on October 8th, 2022.

He said that he was open to wrestling at some point but his priority at the moment is commentary. “We’ll see what the future holds down the line,” he said.

He also joked about bumping into Brock Lesnar, saying, “If Brock steps in my way, I’ll smack him upside his head.”

After last year’s Extreme Rules appearance, Cormier commented that he would “have to get in shape” if a future wrestling match were on the cards.
