Otani’s first public appearance since his injury.

For the first time since his cervical spinal cord injury in April 2022, Shinjiro Otani will be making a public appearance and it’ll be at Pro Wrestling ZERO1’s March 26th show in Tokyo, Japan at the Yasukuni Shrine.

Otani sent out the following via Twitter about his appearance:

About a year has passed since then.

I would like to thank all of you who have continued to send me ‘Go for it!’

I would like you to see Shinjiro Otani moving forward, even if it is only by small steps.

I will return to the world of wrestling!

Otani is paralyzed from the neck down and is still in rehabilitation. This year, New Japan Pro-Wrestling donated 3 million yen to Otani’s medical fund and earlier this month, a portion of the proceeds from the All Star Junior Festival were donated to Otani.
