Two more advance in opening round of New Japan Cup

Two more advanced in the opening round of the New Japan Cup on Wednesday.

The card from Fukushima drew 720 fans and featured two opening round matches to close out the show, including the night’s main event where EVIL pinned Ren Narita.

EVIL landed a low blow on Narita and proceeded to connect with a lariat, which Narita kicked out from. EVIL continued his attack with Everything is Evil and pinned Narita.

After the match, EVIL applied the Sasori-gatame

In the other tournament match, Mark Davis of Aussie Open advanced by defeating Toru Yano.

Davis blocked a low blow attempt from Yano and placed Yano onto his shoulders and hit the Waterslide for the win.

EVIL will square off with Jeff Cobb on 3/13 in the second round of the tournament while Mark Davis will meet his United Empire stablemate Will Ospreay on the same date in the upcoming round.

The final opening round matches are Friday in Yamanashi with Shingo Takagi vs. Aaron Henare and YOSHI-HASHI vs. Kyle Fletcher.
