Starks and Swerve Strickland also talked about their miscommunication at Double or Nothing 2022.

The 2023 WWE Royal Rumble event featured Cody Rhodes winning the men’s Royal Rumble match to secure his shot at Roman Reigns’ Undisputed WWE Universal Title at WrestleMania 39.

AEW’s Ricky Starks was present at the event in support of Cody and an image surfaced on social media, via security footage, of Starks walking into the venue alongside Rhodes. Both Starks and Rhodes have spoken about it in interviews and Rhodes said he takes blame for Starks being spotted.

As Starks was chatting with Swerve Strickland on the Jericho Cruise edition of the Swerve City Podcast, he shared that he’s ‘in the process of maybe’ suing the Alamodome for the image of him getting out to the public.

I’m in the process of maybe suing Alamodome and getting some money out of it (image that surfaced of Starks behind Cody Rhodes at Royal Rumble 2023) because how crazy is that? How are you a security guard and you go, you know what I got? Rewind the tape, let me show you right quick. Let me show you right quick.

Earlier in the conversation, Starks and Swerve opened up about their altercation that took place after AEW Double or Nothing 2022. In February of this year, it was reported by Fightful Select that the two had a ‘scuffle’ after the Tag Title match as a result of a breakdown in communication

Strickland: I’ll tell you one thing man, not only just these reporters but fan base and all that stuff, y’all gotta chill and relax with hearing about these reports of people getting into scuffles and fights in the back.

Starks: Well they’re right, they’re actually right. Yeah, they do get into fights back there (he laughed)… It’s not overblown like that.

Strickland: It’s a bit much but, eh, not gonna front, I’ma be honest with you, it happens more often than you think.

Starks: Yeah, I’ve never seen a fight where anyone has won. It’s always a draw.

Strickland: Matter of fact, me and Ricky got in a fight.

Starks: Yeah, we did.

Strickland: It was after (AEW) Double or Nothing. It was a little miscommunication thing and we had our little thing but…

Starks: Right in that hallway.

Strickland: But the beauty of it, y’all didn’t know about it till now, and now look where we are.

Starks: And judging by the reaction, y’all don’t give a sh*t… And I like that. That’s great.

On AEW programming, Strickland is in the midst of a storyline with Keith Lee and Dustin Rhodes. After Starks defeated Chris Jericho at Revolution, he was ambushed by Juice Robinson on the 3/8 Dynamite
