Mayu Iwatani challenging for IWGP Women’s Championship at STARDOM’s April 23rd event

Mayu Iwatani is getting her shot at the IWGP Women's Championship come April 23rd at STARDOM's Yokohama Arena show

The IWGP Women’s Title is in Mayu Iwatani’s sights. 

At STARDOM’s March 18th event which was headlined by Mayu Iwatani’s homecoming match, Iwatani stuck her claim to an IWGP Women’s Championship match. 

After her team got the victory, Iwatani got on the microphone and stated that she will be challenging whomever the IWGP Women’s Champion is on April 23rd at STARDOM All Star Grand Queendom. 

The current IWGP Women’s Champion is Mercedes Moné and her next defense is scheduled for April 8th at NJPW Sakura Genesis.  

At NJPW x STARDOM Historic X-Over, Iwatani lost to KAIRI in the finals of the IWGP Women’s Championship tournament.
