Austin was asked about a potential appearance at WrestleMania 39.
This year’s WrestleMania is taking place at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California. Last year’s event emanated from AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas and headlining night one of that year’s WrestleMania was Kevin Owens versus the returning Stone Cold Steve Austin.
In an interview coming out of WrestleMania 38, Steve Austin said he’d be at this year’s event if he got the call. While speaking to Justin of The Wrestling Classic, Austin stated that he has not ‘heard anything’ about being at WrestleMania 39. He went on to praise WWE’s current talent roster and feels they deserve those spots on this year’s card.
You know, I haven’t heard anything (about me being at WrestleMania 39). We’re literally, as we speak right now, about two weeks away and it’s the biggest show of the year. Right now, I think WWE has got as good a roster as they’ve had since the Attitude Era. They got a deep roster so I think so many guys and gals need those coveted spots. They got plenty names to draw from, plenty of talent to draw from. I think they should shine the light and the cameras on their current superstars… To be determined (if I’ll be appearing).
In late February, POST Wrestling’s John Pollock and Wai Ting dove into a Fightful Select report which noted that Austin was offered a match for this year’s WrestleMania.
