The card for the New Japan Cup Final has been released.
The 24-man tournament is down to SANADA and David Finlay, who will headline Tuesday’s card in Niigata to determine the next challenger for Kazuchika Okada.
SANADA’s path to the final included a departure from the LIJ stable and aligning with Taichi, Yoshinobu Kanemaru, DOUKI, and Taka Michinoku (‘Just Five Guys’) while introducing a new look at Sunday’s semi-final match with Mark Davis. That was preceded by wins against Taichi, KENTA, and Tetsuya Naito.
Finlay advanced to the final with wins against Tomohiro Ishii, Great O-Khan, Shota Umino, and Tama Tonga.
Tuesday’s final will include an IWGP Junior Heavyweight Championship between Hiromu Takahashi and Lio Rush with the champion making his second defense of his current reign after regaining the title at Wrestle Kingdom 17.
