Rick ‘Black Bart’ Harris diagnosed with stage four colon cancer that has spread to his liver

Taking to his personal Facebook page, Rick Harris a.k.a. Black Bart revealed that he has been diagnosed with stage four colon cancer

Harris adds that he’s not going to roll over and play dead.

Taking to his personal Facebook page, Rick Harris, also known as former NWA Champion Black Bart, revealed that he has been diagnosed with stage four colon cancer.

The Texas Wrestling Hall of Famer added that the cancer spread to his liver. He stressed that he’s not the type of person to ‘roll over and play dead’ so everyone should know that he’ll be fighting.

Well I’m not quite sure where to start except to just spit it out the way I usually do. I don’t want rumors so here’s the truth. I was diagnosed today with stage 4 colon cancer that has also spread to my liver. I am not the kind to just roll over and play dead so you all should know that I will fight it with all I have in me. Since I am a child of God and He is in my heart always I believe I have a head start. I will see the oncologist next week and start chemotherapy ASAP. The main thing I ask from my Facebook people is for prayer because I believe we can all use extra prayers. I will post updates when I have them.

Harris is 75 years of age and has a wrestling career that started in the mid-1970s and crossed over into the early 2000s. Among those that Harris trained to be a wrestler is John Bradshaw Layfield (JBL).

POST Wrestling would like to send our well wishes to Rick ‘Black Bart’ Harris.
