McCarty is going to be in action for IMPACT Wrestling on April 6th.

At IMPACT Wrestling’s Sacrifice event, Bully Ray and Tommy Dreamer clashed in a ‘Busted Open’ match. Throughout the match, Bully had multiple verbal exchanges with four-time NHL Stanley Cup winner Darren McCarty.

When Bully threw a drink in McCarty’s face, the former Detroit Red Wings player jumped the guardrail and was eventually invited into the ring. They brawled but McCarty was put through a table by Bully, Jason Hotch and John Skyler.

McCarty joined The Jeff Marek Show on Sportsnet and reflected on that appearance. He said it was a ‘bucket list item’ for him he’ll go through a table again because Tommy Dreamer is a friend.

Wow, you (Jeff Marek) used a pro wrestling term to the extent. I think I would say I find myself in situations inside of a wrestling ring that I shouldn’t be there and of course the result happens. What we’re alluding to is anybody who follows IMPACT Wrestling and I know it’s played on TSN, they just had their Sacrifice pay-per-view in Windsor, Ontario which I’m from Leamington but it’s Essex County. Like to consider the Essex County fight club all the tough guys in hockey that come out of our area including one of the Maple Leafs’ tough guys in the day, Tie Domi, so, little bit known that I guess it’s a bucket list item now that I get to mark off but Bully Ray, formerly Bubba Ray Dudley, put me through a table the other night. But I would do it again because Tommy Dreamer’s my guy. Always has been.

He enjoyed what he did at Sacrifice and joked that it was fun up until the adrenaline wore off and he woke up to a swollen elbow.

As I look back (on IMPACT Sacrifice) and people ask me, ‘Well what was it like?’ And I said, ‘Well it was better than I thought until the adrenaline wore off in the middle of my sleep and I could not extend my left arm because my elbow was so swollen up’ but, thank God that I’m well medicated with the Darren McCarty brand. So it was awesome.

On the April 6th IMPACT on AXS, McCarty is tagging with Dreamer and Yuya Uemura to face Bully Ray, Jason Hotch and John Skyler.
