A nod to Pro Wrestling Guerrilla at WrestleMania.

April 1st is the start of WWE’s two-day WrestleMania 39 event and one of the championship matches on the card is the reunited Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens challenging The Usos (Jimmy & Jey Uso) for the Undisputed WWE Tag Team Championships.

This year’s WrestleMania emanates from California, where Owens and Zayn made waves in the California-based PWG promotion.

TVA Sports caught up with Owens ahead of WrestleMania and he stated that him and Zayn’s gear for WrestleMania will have a nod to PWG.

For sure, I’d like to thank Excalibur and Super Dragon. The fact that WrestleMania is in Los Angeles is huge for us and the gear we’ll be wearing for our match, will have a little nod to PWG. Without Super Dragon, we would not be where we are today.

Owens feels that aside from Roman Reigns versus Cody Rhodes, the Undisputed WWE Tag Title match is the most anticipated bout on the card. He adds that there are some who may be looking forward to the tag title match more than Reigns versus Cody.

Looking at The Bloodline storyline, Owens feels no one has done a better job than The Usos and Sami Zayn.

Apart from the Roman versus Cody match, we’re the most anticipated match, and I say this in all humility, but also with confidence. There are probably people who are looking forward to our match more than the one between Roman and Cody, because of the storyline and because of the work that The Usos and Sami did to get to where we are. No one has done a better job in the last year than those three guys.

At WrestleMania 39, Rhodes is going to pay tribute to every promotion and company he’s worked for during his time away from WWE via his weight belt.
