WWE claimed on Monday that WrestleMania 39 was the most successful and highest-grossing event in the company’s history.
The figures were released on the day that the company announced a deal that would see Endeavor acquire a 51% controlling interest in WWE and merge it with UFC to create a new publicly traded company.
WWE issued a press release stating that the two-night event at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles had set multiple new records for viewership, gate, sponsorship, merchandise and social media engagement.
WrestleMania 39 generated a gate of more than $21.6 million, breaking the previous record by 27 percent, according to the company’s statement.
Night 2 of WrestleMania on Sunday surpassed the company’s previous global viewership record by 33 percent, WWE claimed. This came after night 1 had surpassed that record by 28 percent.
Sponsorship revenue was over $20 million, more than doubling the previous record, and merchandise sales were up 20 percent compared to a record set in 2022.
In addition, the company claimed that the event was “the most social WrestleMania of all time,” with over 500 million views and 11 million hours of video consumed over the two days, a 42 percent increase over last year.
