The UFC is finally set to return to Canada with UFC 289 coming later this year.

On Friday afternoon, the UFC president confirmed the promotion’s return to the country with the UFC 289 pay-per-view set for Rogers Arena in Vancouver on Saturday, June 10.

It will be the promotion’s first live event in Canada since September 2019 prior to the pandemic.

Since 2008, the UFC has run 31 shows in the country beginning with the UFC 83 card in April of that year where Georges St-Pierre regained the UFC Welterweight Championship from Matt Serra. In April 2011, they staged UFC 120 from the Rogers Centre and sold out the stadium in Toronto for St-Pierre vs. Jake Shields.

The UFC has not announced a main event for the June pay-per-view yet.

Tickets for UFC 289 will go on sale on Friday, April 21.
