Kenny Omega is not booked for Triplemania Monterrey this weekend because of AEW contractual issues, according to Konnan.

Talking to Nick Hausman, Konnan said that he would have liked to see a singles match featuring Omega vs. El Hijo Del Vikingo on Sunday for Vikingo’s AAA Mega Championship.

However, according to Konnan, Omega was in the midst of contract talks with AEW when AAA was attempting to book him:

He was still negotiating with AEW and he wasn’t sure if he was going to stay or not. So, we couldn’t commit, and he didn’t want to come here until he signed. So, that was out the window, boom.

Konnan added that he assumed Omega had since renewed his deal with AEW:

I’m assuming. I never really asked him but there are plans for him in the future so I’m thinking he already signed. But, you know, he wasn’t sure if he was going to stay and WWE was talking to him. You know? So, we couldn’t get him to commit.

The main event of Triplemania XXXI will see a fatal four-way match involving El Hijo del Vikingo (c) vs. Komander vs. Rich Swann vs. Swerve Strickland.
