While airing against the NBA, NXT fell to its lowest viewership on the USA Network.
The April 11th edition of the show averaged 528,000 viewers and approximately 170,000 (0.13) in the 18-49 demographic, according to Showbuzz Daily and Wrestlenomics.
Since launching on USA in September 2019, this would be the lowest overall viewership for NXT on the network. There have been several episodes that aired in Syfy that did perform lower.
NXT ranked #18 among cable originals and aired head-to-head with the NBA play-in game between the Miami Heat and Atlanta Hawks averaging 2,245,000 viewers and 0.89 in the 18-49 demo and ranked second among cable originals. There was also a large audience for Tucker Carlson with 3.7 million viewers and 0.26 in the demo on Fox News.
This week’s viewership dropped five percent from last week while the 18-49 audience was identical to the week prior.
In the key demo, female viewership grew by 13 percent with males declining by five percent.
Adults 18-34 experienced a 33 percent spike and was a two-week high in the demo.
Adults 35-49 fell by 20 percent, which was it lowest audience in the demo since February 7.
Adults 50+ fell by three percent.
NXT was headlined by a fatal four-way match to determine the next title challenger for Carmelo Hayes. Grayson Waller defeated Dragon Lee, JD McDonagh & Duke Hudson and will challenge Hayes on 4/25 at Spring Breakin’.
The show did not air live in Canada on Sportsnet 360 and was available on the SN Now streaming platform.
The WWE on A&E block saw the Legends’ Biography on Dusty Rhodes average 461,000 viewers and 183,000 (0.14) in the 18-49 demographic, which ranked #21 among cable originals. It was the third largest audience this season behind the episodes on the N.W.O. and Chyna.
WWE Rivals chronicling The Undertaker vs. Randy Orton averaged 427,000 and 183,000 (0.14) in the demo and ranked #20 on cable. It was the second most-watched episode this season behind the season premiere covering Hulk Hogan vs. Andre the Giant. (Showbuzz Daily)
