Hiroshi Tanahashi to miss NJPW Road to Dontaku dates due to injury

Tanahashi pulled from some Road to Dontaku dates. 

At NJPW’s Capital Collision event in Washington D.C., Hiroshi Tanahashi tagged with Kazuchika Okada in the main event in a three-way tag. During the bout, Tanahashi suffered a broken rib. 

As a result, he was pulled from the Collision in Philadelphia show and in an update from New Japan, Tanahashi is going to miss some of the Road to Dontaku tour which kicks off April 20th.

At Capital Collision on April 15, Hiroshi Tanahashi sustained a rib injury, and was absent from the following night’s Collision in Philadelphia. After examination it has been determined that Tanahashi will be absent from forthcoming events on the Road to Dontaku Series starting today, April 20 in Nara, with a return date to be determined.

New Japan Pro-Wrestling joins fans in wishing Tanahashi a fast and full recovery. 

On May 21st, Tanahashi is scheduled to go one-on-one with Will Ospreay to determine who moves on to Dominion to face Lance Archer. The winner will be next in line to challenge Kenny Omega for the IWGP U.S. Heavyweight Championship.
