The rematch between Hijo del Vikingo and Kenny Omega is set for TripleMania in July.
AAA made the announcement on Monday that will see Hijo del Vikingo defend the Mega Championship against Kenny Omega in a rematch from their 3/22 match on Dynamite.
It has been a long-anticipated match for AAA to stage in Mexico and was marketed as a “Dream Match” by AEW when they revealed the match-up in March.
Omega held the AAA Mega Championship for nearly two years beginning in October 2019 but vacated the title due to multiple injuries. The vacant title was won by Vikingo in December 2021 with the current champion’s reign eclipsing the 500-day mark.
TripleMania XXXI is being distributed over three events this year with this past month’s event in Monterrey, 7/15 in Tijuana, and 8/12 in Mexico City.
The event will be available through FITE TV internationally.
