WWE NXT Spring Breakin’ notes: Tony D & Stacks get rid of Pretty Deadly, Indi Hartwell retains, The Dyad

The opening match of NXT Spring Breakin’ saw Tony D’Angelo and Channing ‘Stacks’ Lorenzo defeat Pretty Deadly (Elton Prince & Kit Wilson) in a Trunk match. D’Angelo and Stacks won the bout by placing both members of Pretty Deadly into the trunk of a car. The final segment of the show saw D’Angelo and Stacks standing by a body of water and they implied that they dumped Wilson and Prince into the water.

Indi Hartwell was able to hold onto the NXT Women’s Championship. She put the title on the line in a Triple Threat against Tiffany Stratton and Roxanne Perez. Hartwell missed a portion of the match as she had to be tended to by a ringside doctor. She came down on her leg awkwardly when catching Stratton off a moonsault.

In Roxanne Perez’s pre-match promo, she mentioned A.J. Lee as one of her inspirations.

There was a segment that saw Joe Gacy approach Gallus’ Joe Coffey. He challenged him to a match and if Gacy wins, The Dyad (Rip Fowler & Jagger Reid) will get an NXT Tag Title match against Mark Coffey & Wolfgang. If The Dyad loses, they can no longer challenge for the belts as long as Mark and Wolfgang are champions. Reid and Fowler publicly shared that WWE denied their release requests and their contracts expire this October.

A North American Title match is taking place on 5/2 and it’ll be Wes Lee defending against Drew Gulak. Tyler Bate offered to accompany Lee to the ring to offset Charlie Dempsey, who’ll be flanking Gulak.

In addition to that, Gigi Dolin versus Jacy Jayne is taking place next week and Gigi shared that her younger brother will be ringside.

The duo of Josh Briggs and Fallon Henley defeated Brooks Jensen and Kiana James. When they lost, Kiana attempted to swing on Brooks and told him that she never loved him. Afterwards, Brooks was embraced by Josh Briggs.

Oba Femi made his NXT TV in-ring debut and scored a win over Oro Mensah.
