Younger noted that he was scheduled to have surgery on April 25th.

On 4/24, Drake Younger (Wuertz) took to Instagram and noted that doctors diagnosed him with a broken back and three fractured vertebrae. He was informed of that after he competed in XPW’s King of the Death Match tournament on 4/22.

Younger competed in four matches that night. He added that he was scheduled to undergo surgery on April 25th. Here’s the note he shared out on Instagram:

For those that saw Valerie’s post, thank you for the overwhelming amount of love and prayers.

The diagnosis however is not good. Apparently the years of damage to my body finally caught up to me this weekend while wrestling in a tournament for XPW. The Doctors were blown away that I Wrestled 4 matches in one night.

I’ve been diagnosed with a broken back. I have 3 fractured vertebrae and I’m scheduled for surgery tomorrow.

Please pray for my family and for a successful procedure.

Announcement on my future coming soon.
Thank you all!

Younger had been a referee for WWE’s NXT brand before being released in 2021. Earlier that year, he was suspended and was not allowed to be at the Performance Center for several weeks.
