Ospreay adds that if a new deal isn’t made, he just wants to provide and be happy.
At a 1PW show on the weekend of April 22nd, DAZN caught up with Will Ospreay for an interview. He informed the outlet that his contract with New Japan Pro-Wrestling expires in February 2024.
‘Dark Puroresu Flowsion’ asked Ospreay about that topic and he said he just wants to know what his options are and it does not necessarily mean he’s leaving NJPW.
Ospreay added that he’s ‘fairly certain’ him and NJPW can reach a new deal, but if that’s not the case, he just wants to provide for his family, wrestle how he wants and be happy.
Will Ospreay & I discussed his 2024 free agency:
“I just wanna know what my options are doesn’t mean I’m leaving NJPW. I’m fairly positive me & NJPW will work out a deal but in case we dont I want to provide for my family, wrestle how I wanna wrestle & most importantly be happy” pic.twitter.com/FAFCrGKpcZ

On May 21st, Ospreay is scheduled for action at NJPW Resurgence. He’ll be facing Hiroshi Tanahashi to determine who takes on Lance Archer at Dominion in the finals of the IWGP U.S. Heavyweight Championship tournament.
Tanahashi suffered a broken rib at Capital Collision and was pulled from Road to Wrestling Dontaku dates. Tanahashi stated that he’s hoping to be back in action by May.
