Indi Hartwell relinquishes NXT Women’s Title, new champion to be crowned at Battleground

A new champion to be crowned at Battleground.

The final segment of the May 2nd edition of NXT on USA Network saw NXT Women’s Champion Indi Hartwell appear in the ring. She spoke about her journey through the brand and what lies ahead as she has been drafted to Monday Night Raw

Hartwell first provided an injury update and said she came out of her title defense on 4/25 with a high ankle sprain. She then went on to relinquish the NXT Women’s Title.

A tournament to crown a new champion kicks off on next week’s program and it’ll conclude at the Battleground Premium Live Event on May 28th.

Indi said all that was left to do was figure out how to get out of the ring with her crutches and walking boot and it was Dexter Lumis who slid from underneath the ring to carry her.

After Hartwell and Lumis exited camera’s view, Tiffany Stratton and Cora Jade tugged on the NXT Women’s Title that was in the ring. Multiple members of the women’s division then came out and they all brawled in the ring.
