AAA Mega Championship

Rampage kicked off with Hijo del Vikingo taking on both Dralistico and Komander in a three-way match for the AAA Mega Championship. Much to everyone’s surprise, this match was incredible. Vikingo picked up the win and the announce team noted that he had now lasted 547 days as AAA Mega Champion – perhaps a wry nod to the other championship streak being celebrated tonight in wrestling.

Action Aubrey

Footage was shown of Aubrey Edwards’ run-ins with Sonjay Dutt and his crew over the last few months culminating with Aubrey getting hit with a guitar by Karen Jarrett this past weekend at Double or Nothing. Sonjay and crew were informed that they would be suspended due to their actions. Mark Briscoe interrupted saying that he talked to Tony Khan and no suspensions would occur because they wanted a fight. Karen Jarrett stepped forward and wondered who Briscoe’s “we” was and Aubrey Edwards appeared and began to choke Karen as a brawl ensued.

NJPW World Television Championship

Continuing on with the theme of “Championship Friday”, Zack Sabre Jr. successfully defended his title against Action Andretti. The pairing had a great little match with the crowd getting into it and a gruesome-looking tapout finisher from Sabre Jr. on Andretti.

The Two Words You Need to Remember

The commentary team mentioned that CM Punk was announced for the debut of AEW Collision on Saturday, June 17th at the United Center. Jim Ross said, “The only two words you need to remember are CM Punk”.

NJPW Strong Women’s World Championship

Willow Nightingale defended her newly won NJPW Strong Women’s World Championship against Emi Sakura. The commentary team noted that Willow was “not supposed to win” that match but more in the sense of being the underdog. They also wished Mercedes Mone a speedy recovery. Willow won with the sit-out powerbomb in just under ten minutes.

ROH Main Event & PPV Announcement

The next ROH PPV, Death Before Dishonor was announced to be taking place from the Cure Insurance Arena in Trenton, NJ on Friday, July 21st with tickets on sale this Friday, June 9th.

The main event saw Lee Moriarty taking on Katsuyori Shibata for the ROH Pure Championship. In the match, Moriarty had a great showing with Shibata using all three allowed rope breaks. Shibata however recovered and won with the sleeper followed immediately by the PK. Daniel Garcia came out after the match and confronted Shibata as the show went off the air.
