Okabayashi is taking time off to figure out what he wants to do next.

Big Japan Pro Wrestling held a press conference for Yuji Okabayashi, a four-time World Strong Heavyweight Champion in the promotion.

Okabayashi has been working with Big Japan since the beginning of his in-ring career in 2008. Starting this July, he’ll be taking an indefinite leave of absence. He is scheduled for shows on June 10th, 11th, 18th, 25th, 29th and the 30th before his leave of absence begins.

Okabayashi explained that 40 was a milestone age for him and now that he’s at that age, he’s thinking about the future and wondered if he’d be able to continue his current style of wrestling.

Retirement is something he’ll think about during his time off. He has spoken to his family and the Big Japan President about it.
