A new IWGP U.S. Heavyweight Champion is crowned.
For the second time in 2023, Will Ospreay and Kenny Omega clashed with the IWGP U.S. Heavyweight Championship on the line. Their first bout was at NJPW Wrestle Kingdom 17 where Omega bested Ospreay to become champion.
Their latest go-round took place at AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door where Ospreay defeated Omega to regain the championship.
Don Callis, who was in Ospreay’s corner, consistently got involved in the match in an attempt to secure a victory for Ospreay. Despite Omega pushing through the odds, Ospreay ended up with the victory to become IWGP U.S. Heavyweight Champion once again.
Is this really the way Will Ospreay regains the title?!

Ospreay is taking the U.S. Heavyweight Title into the G1 Climax tournament. He’s in the B block with Kazuchika Okada, KENTA, Tanga Loa and El Phantasmo among others.
