An update from Rebel about her roles in AEW.
For the past several years, Rebel had been paired with Britt Baker on AEW programming and Jamie Hayter joined them to form a trio. Since Hayter and Baker have transitioned into babyface roles, Rebel has not been with them on-screen.
In 2019, Rebel was hired by AEW to work in their makeup and hair department. While speaking to Taylor Wilde for the newest episode of Wilde On, Rebel revealed that she’s no longer in hair and makeup and is strictly an on-air talent for AEW.
She added that she lost her passion for hair and makeup, but is having a good time overall in the company.
I did that again. I thought after I left IMPACT, I was like, you know what? Let’s try again and I started doing the hair and makeup and then got thrown in front of the camera again and at this point, I have now said, God, I hear you. I now know that your will for me is this. I’m going to accept it and quit fighting it and yeah, so I don’t do the hair and makeup anymore and just strictly on-camera talent and that’s what I plan to keep doing. I lost my passion for makeup and hair (she laughed).
I’ve had a ball at AEW and it’s a lot of fun, and I had a lot of fun at IMPACT too so, yeah.
Elsewhere in the conversation, Rebel spoke about her friendship with Christy Hemme. Within that, she said she almost did the WWE Diva Search with Hemme but had to pull out due to a family matter. Hemme won the 2004 installment of the contest.
We (Rebel & Christy Hemme) met in L.A. doing the show group… I remember when we were both going to go do the (WWE) Diva Search, and something happened… but I had to go home because of a family emergency and she went and she’s a really good dancer. It was amazing.
Rebel last wrestled for AEW in the summer of 2022 and her last televised match for the company was in November 2021.
