Zoey Stark details how torn ACL & meniscus injury happened in 2021, doesn’t have meniscus anymore in left knee

Stark is still wearing the knee brace because it makes her feel comfortable.

In the summer of 2022, Zoey Stark returned to WWE’s NXT brand after being sidelined in late 2021 due to an ACL and meniscus tear. Stark was in a Triple Threat Tag Team Ladder match at NXT Halloween Havoc when the injury occurred.

She stated that she was pushed off a ladder, caught her footing on the top rope and then springboard onto talents on the outside. That went according to plan but Zoey told WWE Die Woche that things went left when she landed on her feet. That’s when she blew her knee out and she added that she does not have a meniscus anymore in her left knee.

Zoey said the reason she still wears the brace is because it makes her feel better mentally to know her left knee is protected.

So, I was climbing up a ladder and Persia (Steph De Lander) pushed the ladder and I was supposed to jump from the ladder to then springboard and then dive on a group of girls. So all of that happened but I made the mistake of landing on my feet and when that happened, my knee blew out. I tore my ACL, MCL, PCL, the whole thing. I really don’t even have the meniscus anymore in my left knee.

Yeah, yeah (that’s the reason I still wear a knee brace). Mentally, I just still need that knee brace. It makes me feel a lot better knowing that there’s something there protecting it.

She was asked what match is she most proud of in her career thus far. Stark said the bout she had with former NXT Women’s Champion Mandy Rose at Heatwave. It was Stark’s first big match since her injury and she said it was fun to put together.

Ouuu, that is a really great question (what match is she most proud of). I kinda go back to my match with Mandy Rose because that was my first big match after my injury and I feel like I started to find myself a little bit more and got more comfortable doing different things and being just a different person. Not the same Zoey Stark when I got injured. I was completely different when I came back.

I feel like we told a pretty good story with it. She focused on the knee, she grabbed my brace and that’s how she finished me. It was just a fun match to put together and we just had a great time.

The current Monday Night Raw talent listed two names from NXT who she would like to see get a push on the main roster. She named Ivy Nile and Jacy Jayne.

Out of just NXT girls, there’s a couple that I gotta — I would love to see Ivy (Nile) get a really good push and a good run. I see her working every single day. Excuse my language, she’s busting her ass day in and day out. So I would love to see something from her. Jacy (Jayne) is great at what she does. I think she could really hang with the girls and really fit in. So those two are ones that come to mind.

Stark is scheduled to be in the women’s Money in the Bank Ladder match at this Saturday’s Premium Live Event. She’ll be in the match with Becky Lynch, IYO SKY, Bayley, Trish Stratus and Zelina Vega.
